Norman Europe´s Privacywood blind incorporates the new elegant slat design (no traditional holes), offering consumers a sleek modern natural looking blind with easy operation, tight closure, room darkening effect and the highest level of privacy.

Privacywood is made from Phoenixwood a lightweight hardwood revealing a beautiful textured oak wood finish. As a plantation timber it plays an integral role in mitigating climate change. Phoenixwood is known as one of the most efficient tree species absorbing greenhouse gases (13t of CO2, gas and dust per acre of trees per year) releasing 6 kg of oxygen per day per tree. Also as an additional bonus Phoenixwood is naturally durable and fire resistant.

For Norman Europe the Privacywood Custom-fit wood program completes our total wood product offering, enabling us to provide products at all levels in the market……good, better and best. The Custom-fit concept involves a four step process of resizing the blind supplied in standard widths and drops to a final MTM size. The first step is to adjust the length by adding or removing slats.

To simplify the process for blind orders with longer drops we support our clients by supplying the required additional pre-punched slats with each order. This saves our clients time and money in reduced inventory and fabrication costs.

The second step is to complete the length adjustment by attaching the bottom rail that is supplied loose with each blind.

The third step is to adjust the width of the blind with a purpose built Custom-fit machine that trims the wood slats, bottom rail and steel head rail simultaneously (up to 15cm per blind). This is followed by touching up the trimmed ends of the slats and bottom rail with stain or paint.

The final step is to cut the valence to size and repackage the blind ready for delivery.
